Wishes for Baby
A beautiful, sentimental activity where guests write down their hopes, dreams, and advice for the new baby to read in the future.
What you need
- Printed 'Wishes for Baby' cards or high-quality stationery
- Nice pens (multiple colors)
- A decorative keepsake box, glass jar, or photo album to store them
Setup
- Set up a quiet, dedicated station or table with the cards, pens, and the keepsake container.
- Encourage guests to visit the station at their leisure during mingling or eating times.
How to play
- Guests take a card and fill in pre-written prompts (e.g., 'I hope you learn to...', 'I hope you never forget...', 'I hope you love...', 'Always remember that...').
- They can add personal advice, draw doodles, or write sweet messages for the parents as well.
- Once finished, they sign their name and place the card into the keepsake box.
- The parents take the box home to read when they need encouragement, or save them for the child to read when they are older.
Variations
- Time Capsule Letters: Have guests write a full letter to the baby, seal it in an envelope, and put it in a box specifically marked 'Do not open until 18th Birthday'.
- Video Confessional: Set up a ring light and iPad station in a quiet room where guests can record a 30-second video message for the baby.
