Decorate a Onesie
A highly popular, practical craft station where guests design custom onesies. The baby gets a unique wardrobe, and guests get to show off their artistic skills.
What you need
- Plain white cotton onesies (buy a variety of sizes: 0-3m, 3-6m, 6-9m)
- Non-toxic fabric markers
- Fabric paint and brushes (optional)
- Stencils or iron-on decals
- Pieces of cardboard (to put inside onesies to prevent bleeding)
Setup
- Set up a large, well-protected crafting table with all the materials.
- Crucial step: Place a piece of cardboard inside every onesie to keep markers or paint from bleeding through to the back layer.
- Print out some inspiration sheets with funny quotes, cute animals, or simple patterns.
How to play
- Guests visit the station when they want and choose a onesie in the size they prefer.
- Using the markers, paints, or stencils, they get creative and design a custom outfit.
- Once finished, the onesies can be hung on a clothesline across the room to dry (this also serves as fantastic, personalized shower decor!).
- The parents get to keep all the unique, handmade creations.
Variations
- Bib Decorating: If onesies are too expensive, use plain white cotton bibs for a quicker, cheaper craft.
- Alphabet Blocks: Provide plain wooden alphabet blocks and sharpies. Guests decorate a block to help build a custom set for the nursery.
