Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and look after your information.
What we collect
If you create an account we store your email, password hash (not the password itself), and optional display name. When you use the site we may also store favourites, shortlists, community posts, polls, and similar content you submit, plus basic technical data such as IP address and browser type in server logs when needed for security or operation.
How we use it
We use this information to run your account, show your saved names and lists, moderate community content, improve the product, and keep the service secure. We do not sell personal data.
Cookies
We use a session cookie so you stay logged in. Some tools keep data only in this browser (local storage). We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Details are in the Cookie Policy.
Third parties (including OAuth)
If you sign in with a social provider (for example Google or similar when enabled), that provider shares basic profile details such as email and name so we can create or link your account. Those providers have their own privacy policies. We only request what we need to authenticate you. Hosting and email delivery may involve standard infrastructure providers that process data under our instructions.
Data retention
Account data is kept while your account is active. If you deactivate or ask us to delete your account, we remove or anonymise personal data within a reasonable time, except where we must keep records for security or legal reasons. Server logs are rotated and not kept indefinitely.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. You can update some details in your profile. For other requests, use the contact page. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser at any time (that will log you out).
