The Price is Right: Baby Edition
A fantastic game that tests guests' knowledge of how much baby essentials cost in today's market. It’s both fun and surprisingly educational for the parents-to-be!
What you need
- 10-12 common baby items (e.g., pack of diapers, baby wipes, diaper rash cream, a jar of baby food, baby wash, pacifier)
- A table to display the items
- Blank cards or printed game sheets with pictures of the items
- Pens for all guests
- The actual store receipt for the host
Setup
- Purchase the baby items before the shower and keep the receipt.
- Arrange all the items on a display table so everyone can see them clearly.
- Hand out the game sheets and pens to the guests.
How to play
- The host holds up each item one by one. Guests write down their guess for the exact retail price of that individual item.
- Once all items have been priced by the guests, the host reveals the actual cost of each item from the receipt.
- Guests score a point if they are within 10 cents of the actual price (or whoever is closest without going over).
- The host then reveals the grand total of all items combined. Guests guess the total, and the closest without going over wins a bonus point.
- The person with the most points wins. Bonus: The parents-to-be get to keep all the displayed baby items!
Variations
- High/Low: Instead of guessing exact prices, the host gives a price and guests just guess if the actual cost is higher or lower.
- Team Play: Divide guests into small teams to discuss and agree on a price, making it more collaborative.
