Mom or Dad?
A fun, interactive quiz game where guests have to guess which parent a specific statement applies to. It's especially great for co-ed baby showers.
What you need
- A list of 15-20 statements/facts about the parents
- Props for each guest: One stick with a cutout of lips (for Mom) and one stick with a cutout of a mustache (for Dad). Or simply pink and blue cards.
- Alternatively, printed game sheets and pens
Setup
- Before the shower, collect facts about both parents. Examples: 'Who weighed more at birth?', 'Who is more nervous about labor?', 'Who will take more photos?', 'Who was the pickier eater as a kid?'.
- Distribute the Mom/Dad props or game sheets to all guests.
How to play
- The host reads out a statement.
- If using props: On the count of three, all guests hold up either the Mom prop or the Dad prop to indicate their guess.
- If using paper: Guests circle 'Mom' or 'Dad' on their sheet.
- The parents-to-be (who are sitting at the front) then reveal the correct answer by holding up their own props.
- Keep track of points, or just play it for laughs and storytelling.
Variations
- Shoe Game Style: The parents sit back-to-back holding one of their own shoes and one of their partner's shoes. Guests watch as the parents answer the questions blindly.
- Baby Future: Ask prediction questions like 'Who will say NO more often?' or 'Who will the baby look like?'
