What it does

The Partner Compatibility Studio is the peace treaty for two-person naming. Each partner enters favorites and vetoes/dealbreakers (prefix a name with ! to mark a must-have), plus an optional surname and middle name. It computes consensus matches, flags veto conflicts (a must-have that the other partner vetoed gets called out), runs style harmony and phonetic analytics, checks surname flow and monogram safety, and offers a live Match Battle swiper to decide together in real time. The finale is an Official Baby Name Agreement — a printable pact with your top consensus candidates and a consensus compatibility percentage. Since the tools consolidation, this tool lives on the Compare names page as the Compatibility mode — the Try-it link below lands you right on it, and the old address redirects there too.

Who it’s for

Two people, two lists, one baby. Especially couples whose lists have suspiciously little overlap.

How to use it, step by step

  1. Partner A enters favorites and vetoes; Partner B does the same (use ! for must-haves, e.g. !Olivia).
  2. Add the family surname and an optional middle name for the flow checks.
  3. Tap Analyze Compatibility and read the matrix: consensus matches, veto conflicts, and each side's solo picks.
  4. Open the Battle Swiper and swipe the candidates together — right to like, 💚 for must-have.
  5. Finish in the Naming Pact tab: print or share your Official Baby Name Agreement.

What you get

Shared consensus matches, veto conflict warnings, style harmony analytics, surname/monogram checks, and a printable naming agreement with a consensus score.

✦ A worked example

You give it

Partner A favorites: Aria, !Elijah, Olivia. Partner B favorites: Elijah, Liam, !Olivia. Each with a veto or two.

You get

Elijah and Olivia surface as consensus matches — and if either had been vetoed by the other side, the conflict would be flagged instead of festering quietly.

💡 Tips & tricks

  • Be honest with vetoes: the tool can only flag a conflict it can see, and a surfaced veto conflict is a 10-minute conversation instead of a delivery-room surprise.
  • Sync by link or QR code so both phones run the same session during the Battle Swiper — it keeps swipes and must-haves in step.

Enough reading — the tool itself is one tap away, and it is free.
