What it does

This page is the combined home of the sibling tool family: its default mode is the Sibling harmony checker described here, and the Matcher, Family style, Twins, Twin pairs, and Triplets modes live alongside it (each has its own guide in this section). The checker tests one candidate name against the siblings already in your family. It runs a battery of sound-and-spelling checks (shared starts and endings, syllable balance, rhyme risks, origin fit — with the multi-origin aware comparison) and returns a harmony score with a verdict, plus warnings for pairings that trip over each other. It also writes the pairing out in spoken form, because — as the tool itself insists — saying it out loud is the real test.

Who it’s for

Parents with a strong candidate and a nagging doubt about how it sounds shouted across a playground next to the other kids' names.

How to use it, step by step

  1. Enter the existing sibling name(s), comma-separated (the placeholder suggests "Emma, Olivia").
  2. Enter the candidate name (the placeholder suggests Ava).
  3. Tap Check harmony and read the score, verdict, checks, and warnings.
  4. Copy the pairing + notes, or copy the link to share the exact check with your partner.

What you get

A harmony score and verdict for the pairing, the individual checks and warnings behind it, and a copyable summary.

✦ A worked example

You give it

Siblings: Emma, Olivia. Candidate: Ava.

You get

A scored read on the trio — including whether Ava's sounds sit gracefully beside Emma and Olivia or echo them a little too closely.

💡 Tips & tricks

  • Run your top three candidates through one at a time; the warnings (not just the score) tell you what to listen for.
  • Names that share an origin get a fair hearing — the checker compares full origin sets, so a shared second origin counts as a match.

Enough reading — the tool itself is one tap away, and it is free.
