Memory jar

Tiny moments, dropped in a jar before they evaporate.

What it does

The Memory jar captures short dated notes — a date, a category tag (Daily Note, Firsts, Funny, and more), and the moment itself ("Today baby…") — saved locally in the browser and synchronized to connected partner devices. Stuck for what to record? A prompt button deals you one. A search-and-filter tab finds notes by keyword or category ("giggle", "bath", "grandma"), family sync runs by link or QR code, and the finale is a printable Memory Book & Keepsake Manifest that compiles your entries chronologically.

Who it’s for

Anyone who knows the tiny moments are the ones that vanish first — and wants them caught in ten seconds, one-handed, at 3 a.m.

How to use it, step by step

  1. In tab 1, add a note: date, category tag, and the moment (or tap New Prompt for inspiration).
  2. Watch the jar count grow; browse saved memories in the same tab.
  3. Use tab 2 to search keywords or filter by category when you want one specific giggle back.
  4. Sync partner and family devices via tab 3 (link or QR).
  5. Compile and print the Memory Book from tab 5.

What you get

A growing jar of dated, categorized memory notes in this browser — searchable, family-synced, and printable as a memory book.

✦ A worked example

You give it

Category: Funny 😆. Note: "Today baby hiccuped through an entire lullaby and looked offended by her own noise."

You get

One jar entry — dated, tagged, findable forever by searching "hiccup", and printed in the memory book between the firsts.

💡 Tips & tricks

  • Tag discipline pays off: five seconds choosing Firsts vs Funny now is the difference between a searchable archive and a junk drawer later.
  • Set a weekly jar date with your partner — the sync means both phones feed the same jar.

Enough reading — the tool itself is one tap away, and it is free.
