Wisconsin measles outbreaks expand while national count holds near 4,410The Wisconsin Department of Health Services confirmed new measles outbreaks across the state this week, adding to the ongoing national resurgence. As of mid-October 2026, the CDC reports approximately 4,410 confirmed U.S. cases, with Pennsylvania accounting for roughly 1,260 of them across 43 counties and five confirmed measles-associated deaths (a sixth under review).#

What parents should do now- Check MMR status for all household members. Two doses provide about 97% lifetime protection.- In counties with sustained transmission, discuss an early dose for infants 6–11 months with your pediatrician. This does not replace the routine schedule.- Watch for fever, cough, runny nose, and rash starting at the hairline. Isolate and call ahead if you suspect exposure.- Keep a household list of recent contacts and travel.#

Other notes this weekCelebrate Babies Week runs 19–23 October in Michigan. Early West Coast flu activity continues at children’s hospitals. The Babies’ Magic Tea gripe-water lot (25122bw) remains under recall for undeclared alcohols — discard if you have it.Editorial context only; not medical advice. Confirm details with your clinic and state health department.
