Parent briefing: RSV window is open, leftover sleep machine, fire-truck board, Elmo teether (1 October 2026)

Parenting · October 1, 2026 · 2 min read · By AnbuBaby

A short 1 October 2026 list for parents. Useful checks, not a news dump. Editorial context. Not medical advice.

## 1. The RSV antibody window is open

In most of the continental US the infant RSV antibody season is October through March. Today is day one.

First-season babies under 8 months: nirsevimab or clesrovimab if the mother did not get RSV vaccine in pregnancy, the date is unknown, or birth was within 14 days of that dose. Second-season (8-19 months, high-risk only): nirsevimab only.

## 2. Love to Dream portable sleep machines

CPSC recalled about 4,000 Love to Dream portable sleep machines (24 September 2026) for fire and burn risk. If one is still in a go-bag, unplug it and follow the recall page. Do not leave it charging overnight in a crib room.

## 3. Melissa & Doug Target fire-truck activity board

The fire hose port can loosen and detach. Stop using the board. Register for the free replacement, $30 check, or $40 store credit.

## 4. Skip Hop Elmo silicone teether

Black eyes can come off if the teether is frozen. If it went in the freezer, stop using it. Check the CPSC recall for the remedy.
