Papablic convertible bedside sleepers recalled

On 15 October 2026 the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of about 248 Papablic convertible bedside sleepers (model PAPA03001AI). These products function as both a bassinet and a play yard. The mattress can become displaced, creating a gap where a baby can become entrapped and suffocate. The latching and locking mechanism can also fail, causing the product to collapse and posing entrapment, fall, and injury risks. No incidents have been reported.

The sleepers have a gray exterior and a stars-and-moon interior print. They were sold on Amazon.com and papablic.com from April 2025 through July 2026 for about $190.

What to do: Stop using the sleeper immediately. Contact Papablic at [email protected] or visit the recall page on papablic.com for a refund. Check under the mattress pad for the model number.

Other cupboard and clinic checks this week

  • Pennsylvania measles cases reached 1,222 as of mid-October, with a sixth death under review. The CDC still lists only two confirmed measles-associated deaths nationwide. Ask your clinic about household MMR status if anyone is unvaccinated or under-immunized.
  • Lake County, Ohio issued a possible measles exposure notice for SweetBerry Fresh Market in Wickliffe (visits on 3, 5, and 6 October). If you or your child were there and are not immune, contact your health department.
  • Independent evidence review continues to affirm strong protection from flu, RSV, and COVID-19 immunizations for infants and children. Maternal vaccines and nirsevimab remain high-impact tools as respiratory season starts.
