Two recent alerts parents can act on this week
A gripe-water lot sold online contains undeclared alcohols, and a small batch of Amazon bath seats fails the federal tip-over standard. Both are stop-use notices. This is product-safety context, not medical advice.
Babies’ Magic Tea Baby Sleep Gripe Water
Pacific Health Sciences voluntarily recalled one lot of Babies’ Magic Tea brand Baby Sleep Gripe Water after FDA testing found undeclared ethanol (~8.3%), methanol (~0.35%), and isopropanol (~0.48%). Lot 25122bw, best before December 2028, in a 4-fl-oz amber bottle inside a blue box with an oral syringe. Distributed through Secrets of Tea and Amazon. No adverse events reported to the company as of the recall announcement.
Stop using the product. Discard it or return it for a refund. Exposure at the labeled doses can cause drowsiness, incoordination, nausea, or other central-nervous-system effects; higher amounts raise respiratory risk. Infant ethanol exposure has been linked to developmental concerns in other contexts.
ONTHEWEI baby bath seats
CPSC recall 27-018 (October 8, 2026) covers about 2,140 ONTHEWEI baby bath seats sold on Amazon in April 2026 for $40–$50. Model MY002, manufacture date 2026/1/10, in gray, pink, blue, or mist green. They are unstable and can tip over, violating the mandatory infant bath-seat standard and creating a drowning risk. No injuries reported.
Stop using immediately. To receive a refund, write “RECALLED” on the front, remove the backrest and arm restraints, cut the three suction cups, photograph the destroyed seat, and email the photo to [email protected]. Then dispose of it.
