Parent briefing: dressers, formula cans, measles, and battery toys (28 September 2026 late)

## 1. The dresser is still unanchored

CPSC announced on 24 September 2026 that Yuyitop recalled Aitjunz 8-drawer dressers for tip-over and entrapment. They fail the STURDY clothing-storage standard unless they are anchored to the wall. Cheap online dressers keep failing the same test. Anchor what you already own. Do not wait for the next model number.

## 2. Formula outbreak pages say “over.” Cans do not expire on the news cycle

FDA and CDC declared the June 2026 Nara Organics powdered-formula infant-botulism outbreak over. Recalled Nara Organics Whole Milk Organic Infant Formula (Best By dates ending in 2027) should not be fed. ByHeart Whole Nutrition remains on the separate 2025 investigation page. Powder lasts. Check the pantry, not only the store shelf.

## 3. Measles is the worst US year since 2000

This week’s most important infection story for families is still measles, not a new gadget. Reporting has also made death counts harder to read because of how cases are tabulated. Ask your clinician what your child’s schedule is. Do not use a headline as a catch-up plan.

## 4. Button-cell toys are still in living rooms

ABC Trading’s 24 September recall of light-up children’s toys cited battery-ingestion risk and a failed toy standard. If a toy has a battery door that opens without a tool, it does not belong with a toddler.

## What to do tonight

- Walk the dresser. If it wobbles, it needs a strap into a stud.
- Read the formula can in the cupboard against the FDA outbreak pages.
- If a toy opens with fingernails, bin it or tape it shut until you can.
