Content warning: Medical complications
This post discusses a sensitive topic. Open to read the rest.
CPSC posted a new batch of warnings and recalls on 1 October 2026. Two items matter in homes with children. A third, padded crib bumpers, is the same hazard already covered this morning.
## Bonnlo bunk beds: stop use, no refund path
CPSC is warning people to stop using Bonnlo twin-over-twin metal bunk beds. About 19,000 were sold on Amazon, Abunda, eBay, and Walmart from January 2019 through September 2026 for about $140 to $170. Frames are black, gray, or white, with a ladder, about 78 inches wide, 41.5 inches deep, and 65 inches high.
The top-bunk slats can fail. The frame and top bunk can then collapse onto the lower bunk. CPSC knows of nine slat-failure reports, including three collapses. No injuries have been reported. The manufacturer, Shenzhenshi Shangyunjiajuyongpin Limited (dba Bonnlo, China), has not answered CPSC's recall request. That is why this is a stop-use warning, not a recall with a refund.
If the bed matches, take it out of use tonight. Do not sell it or give it away. Dispose of the frame. Report an injury or a defect at SaferProducts.gov.
## Grill brushes: 4.4 million wire bristles
Walmart is recalling about 4,477,655 Expert Grill metal wire-bristle grill brushes, sold in stores and on Walmart.com from January 2021 through August 2026 for $1 to $28. Bristles can break off, stick to the grate or the food, and be swallowed. Internal injury can need surgery. None have been reported so far.
Handles are black plastic or stainless steel. Some brushes have a scraper. The model number is on the packaging or a sticker on the brush. Stop using a matching brush. Return it to Walmart or throw it away, and ask for a refund at 800-925-6278 (7 a.m. to 9 p.m. CT, Monday-Friday) or walmart.com/help. This is a household hazard, not a baby product, but it is the largest recall in today's CPSC list and it reaches family meals.
## Still in force: banned crib bumpers
The same CPSC drop warns again about Mbabyjon padded crib bumpers, sold on the firm's Shopify site for $15 to $28. Padded bumpers are banned under the Safe Sleep for Babies Act. They can block an infant's breathing. No incidents reported. Stop use and throw them out. Do not resell.
## What to do tonight
- Match any metal bunk bed against the Bonnlo description before bedtime.
- Pull Expert Grill wire brushes off the grill and check the model tag.
- Recheck the crib: bare mattress, no bumper, no loose bedding.
