On 17 September 2026 the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission told parents to stop using two marketplace infant walkers: the Pvauert CT02 and the XIOYIG A001. Neither posting is a recall. Both firms received a Notice of Violation. Neither agreed to take the product back or pay a remedy.
Background
The federal infant-walker standard exists because walkers let a pre-walking baby reach a stair before an adult can. Compliant walkers are supposed to be too wide for a standard doorway or to stop at a step edge. The Pvauert walkers are foldable, nine height settings, tray, round base, six wheels, sold in black, green, pink and white. The label under the seat reads Infant baby walker and Model Number CT02. CPSC warning 26-771 covers about 5,451 units sold on Amazon from October 2025 through June 2026 for about $65. CPSC knows of six incidents; three caused head injuries. The XIOYIG A001 was sold on Walmart.com from March through July 2026 for about $73, about 300 units, same failure mode.
What changed
CPSC published the stop-use warnings on 17 September. Through 30 September, many parent roundups still list only the named recalls (Love To Dream sleep machines, Skip Hop Elmo teethers, Melissa and Doug fire-truck boards). The walker warnings are easier to miss because they are not recalls. The firms still have not offered a remedy.
Competing viewpoints
One view: a Notice of Violation plus public warning is enough if parents check CPSC.gov. Another: without a recall, marketplace listings and hand-me-downs keep circulating the same chassis. Pediatric groups have argued walkers should not be in homes; Canada banned them. Makers of units that meet the U.S. standard argue the category can be safe if the base cannot pass a doorway.
What to watch next
Flip the walker. If the underside says CT02 or A001, stop using it and throw it away. Do not list it. Report injuries at SaferProducts.gov. Watch whether CPSC converts either warning into a recall if more head-injury reports land. RSV immunization windows open 1 October.
