This week’s key recalls
The CPSC posted several product safety actions in early October 2026 that affect common nursery and play items. Parents should check model numbers and stop using any matching products immediately.
Papablic convertible bedside sleepers (October 15)
About 248 units. The bedside sleepers with play-yard extensions violate the mandatory safety standard for play yards. The mattress can become displaced, creating an entrapment and suffocation hazard. Remedy: contact the company for instructions; stop use immediately. No injuries reported at the time of the announcement.
ONTHEWEI baby bath seats (October 8)
About 2,140 units sold on Amazon. The seats are unstable and can tip over in use, posing a drowning risk. They violate the mandatory standard for infant bath seats. Sold in gray, pink, blue, and mist green. Model No: MY002. Remedy: contact ONTHEWEI for a refund.
PACEARTH swing seats (October 8)
About 110,550 units. Seats, carabiners, quick links, or webbing straps can break during use, causing falls. At least 30 fall reports and nine injuries (fractures, head injuries, bruising). Remedy: stop use and request a refund.
Related October 8 actions
- Romorgniz six-drawer dressers: tip-over and entrapment hazard; violate the STURDY Act standard for clothing storage units.
- The Conqueror Avengers medals: high-powered magnets can detach; magnet ingestion hazard.
What to do now
- Search your nursery for the brand and model numbers listed above.
- Register products when possible so manufacturers can reach you directly.
- Report any injury to SaferProducts.gov.
- For the latest list, check cpsc.gov/recalls.
These recalls follow a pattern seen earlier in 2026: unstable bath seats, failing swing hardware, and sleep products that do not meet updated mandatory standards. Checking model numbers takes a few minutes and can prevent serious injury.
