CPSC Recalls Costway High Chairs and BAMAMON Finger Lights: What Parents Need to Know

Guides · October 22, 2026 · 2 min read · By AnbuBaby

The United States is facing its largest measles outbreak in more than three decades. As of October 15, the CDC reported 4,410 confirmed cases nationwide — already nearly double the full-year total for 2025 and the highest annual figure since 1991. Pennsylvania remains the epicent

Parents, check your high chairs and light-up toys today.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced two new recalls on October 22, 2026, that affect products commonly used with babies and young children.

Costway Convertible High Chairs

About 3,332 Costway convertible high chairs are being recalled because they violate the mandatory safety standard for high chairs. The chairs lack a passive restraint system. A child can slip through the opening between the feeding tray and the seat, creating a risk of entrapment or a fall that could cause serious injury or death.

What to do: Stop using the high chair immediately. Contact Costway ([email protected] or 844-242-1885) for a free replacement.

BAMAMON LED Projecting Finger Light Toys

About 6,533 BAMAMON LED projecting finger light toys are recalled because they contain button cell batteries in compartments that children can easily open. Button battery ingestion can cause severe internal burns, chemical injury, and death within hours.

What to do: Stop using the toys. Keep them away from children. Check the official CPSC recall notice for return or refund instructions.

Why this matters

High chairs and light-up toys are everyday items in many homes. These recalls join a longer list of 2026 actions involving tip-over bath seats, bedside sleepers, dressers, and button-battery toys. The pattern is clear: many imported products are reaching shelves without meeting U.S. safety standards.

CPSC data shows button batteries and unstable furniture continue to rank among the leading causes of child injury and death from consumer products.

What parents can do

  1. Search the CPSC recall database (cpsc.gov/Recalls) for any product you own.

  1. Register products when you buy them so you receive recall notices.

  1. Never leave a child unattended in a high chair or bath seat.

  1. Keep button-battery products out of reach and check battery compartments regularly.

  1. Anchor furniture to the wall.

These recalls were announced with no reported injuries so far. Acting quickly still prevents the first injury.
